Simple but Sexy?

Let's face it - sometimes we just want to look good.  And honestly - the most fashionable clothes are not necessarily the most flattering. This is my version of dressing for my husband: A nicely fitted pair of jeans, that are not skinnies, a fitted t-shirt (a bit low-cut), and super simple/minimal jewelry.  And flats.  This is what my husband finds most attractive, as far as I can tell.

This attempt was largely inspired by 2 things: 1. A blog post on Megan Fox's "Flaunt It" style and 2. Seeing a woman at the park who was totally working Megan Fox's "Flaunt It" style, without Megan Fox's body.  So I decided to give it a try.  I was feeling inspired when I happened to make my trip to Zara and found these jeans and this t.
The jeans are super-amazing because they are pretty much like skinnies until the very bottom, when they have a little boot-cut.  This makes them *so* much more flattering, but they still feel current.  They also don't fall down without a belt, like most jeans do on me.  Not having to wear a belt means less extra bulk added to my hips.  The fabric is thin and cheap, but it's soft and stretchy and it's dark enough that it doesn't show the lumps that cheaper fabrics often show.
The t is also thin, but had the perfect low cut for me.  And again - the dark color is forgiving enough that the thin fabric is okay.

I felt pretty good in it.  The super-thin fly-away cardi was helpful in the evening when it got a bit chilly.  I'm not quite sure how to do the warm topper and still "Flaunt It" though...

(Jeans and t-shirt: Zara (size 4 jeans, size M t-shirt - seriously *not* vanity sizing :)), Earrings: j-crew factory, Cardigan: Express (xs - normal vanity sizing), Shoes: Salvatore Ferragamo.  Other than the shoes, these items are all in stores now, and on super sale, so if you're looking for any of this type of stuff, check those stores out!!)

  2. lol. I think your jeans look like skinny jeasn because you look skinny in them. Oh I see, they start skinny and then end in boot cut. Maybe I should read the whole post before I comment.
